Golf Club Care and Maintenance: How to Keep Your Clubs Looking and Performing Like Brand New

Golf clubs today are really an investment. More than just financially, also an investment in your game. Iron sets can cost SCARLETT SC085 over $2000 or more. Wood sets $1700. Drivers alone can cost in excess of $1000. At the time of purchase there is not much said about how to care for your new clubs. some stores will tell you to use long neck head covers if your clubs have graphite shafts, but that’s about the total of the advice. A quality set of clubs properly cared for can last a lifetime.

The first rule in keeping your clubs in like new condition is: DON’T TAKE OUT YOUR FRUSTRATIONS ON YOUR CLUBS! That may sound a little humorous, but, I’ve repaired many more clubs damaged due to temper tantrums than were caused by normal play. For the majority of golfers, care and maintenance starts with a regular inspection of your equipment. What do you check? How long does it take? How often is needed? Total time shouldn’t take more than 5 or 10 min.

Ideally, you should inspect your clubs prior to and Sony-Ericsson K550im after each round. But not being able to do that check them at least once a month, if during your inspection you find problems, get them repaired by a qualified professional golf club repairman before you use the club(s). This can save you money in the end.

Start your inspection by checking your grips for wear and tear. Grips usually wear along the top edge where the thumb rests. Grip material can get hard and glossy with age, they also would be slippery. Sometimes this can be repaired and will be explained more fully later. Next, check the shafts for rust, creases, or bends. Check for loose heads. Look at the ferrules, (the plastic piece that the shaft goes into before the club head.) if they are unseated from the hosel it could be an indication of other problems. Check the heads for gouges, cracks, rust, etc. For graphite, shafts check for scratches, wear marks, and fibers peeling away. If you are one of the select few that still use “wood” woods, inspect the finish. Chips in the finish, loose whipping, damaged or loose inserts, or soleplates can drastically reduce the life of our clubs. Again if you see KARCHER VC 5200 any problems se your professional golf club repairman.

Regular cleaning goes a long way toward keeping your clubs new. There are clubs that offer cleaning services whenever you play. Unfortunately, most of us don’t play at a facility that has this service, so we have to clean our own clubs. I know golfers that clean their clubs after every round. I also know golfers whose clubs only see any water when they play in the rain. Cleaning club heads is the part of club care & maintenance with which golfers are most familiar. Start with a bucket of water (I find that lukewarm is the most comfortable to work with). Let the clubs soak, heads down, for a few minutes. Then take

Getting Lost To Find Yourself

How many situations can you remember Globway G228B Silver that only by getting lost you found your way?

I literally do this all the time. In fact, I usually make a Журнал "Мир фантастики" ЂЂЂ 10 2007 point getting lost, so I can learn my way around. It happens each time I move to a new place. I call it the “Game of Getting Lost.” It is time for exploration.

I get into my Hyundai H-TV2108PF car and go explore places. I drive into the roads less traveled, so to speak, and go around and around finding my way around back to the main road, getting into the little veins of the city, observing the areas around me, especially the beautiful houses and yards and nature on my way.

I love it when I see an obscure Samsung SGH-G600 road expecting great surprises coming to me. Granted, the surprises come. I get lost into rural areas, business districts, school areas, the industrial part of town, the poor side of town, the rich side of town, the train tracks, downtown… it is all very fascinating.

I get to learn where shopping places are. I pay close attention to those businesses that particularly interest me. “Ah… this is where

Talent Acquisition in 21st Century-A Big Challenge (Part I)

Talent Acquisition in 21st Century-A Big Challenge (Part I)

Introduction

Last week, I was in Rajasthan (One of the largest state in India), traveling from Jaipur to Jodhpur to Udaipur to Bikaner to Kota. It was not a fun trip but I was adding few more head counts on the roll of the company I am working with. I was in Rajasthan for 8 days, 1800+ people walked-in for interviews; 750 actually interviewed and we extended the offer to 107 people. Whether you refer to it as a ‘talent war’, skill shortage, or ‘employment seller’s market’, it’s threatening the competitive position of many corporations, and the situation is worsening. Over the next 10 years, the demand for talented people will far exceed the availability of skilled workers – at all levels, and in all industries. Before proceeding further, lets have a look at the following figures:

 It is estimated that at least 1/3 of business failures are due to poor hiring decisions and inability to attract and retain the right talent.
 The average cost of replacing a manager or professional is 1.5 to 3 times salary.
 The cost of working around an under-performer can run as high as six figures
 The cost of consistently failing to attract and retain good talent – including declining productivity, morale, culture and reputation - is inestimable.
 Each vacant position costs your organization Rs. 60,000 on average. For some management positions, it can easily run into six figures.

Notwithstanding the economic situation of a country which may affect the job market for a time being, many ‘A-players’ who have not had significant opportunities for growth and advancement change jobs, and the fundamental shortage becomes apparent – especially for those companies who have not developed a reputation as ‘employer-of-choice’, and who have not developed the capabilities and infrastructure to compete effectively to acquire and retain scarce talent resources.

Getting the best talent, and keeping the talent you have is becoming intensely competitive. Most corporate officers say that the biggest constraint to pursuing growth opportunities is talent.

Few businesses have adequate talent acquisition, retention and development capabilities -
 Acquiring A-players is a both art and science. People who primarily make hiring decisions ‘from the gut’ are rarely consistently successful.
 Employer brand identity is increasingly important to compete for talented people who have numerous options. Rebuilding a damaged employer brand often takes years.
 New technology such as Internet sourcing has not reduced cycle times nor increased effectiveness
 Handing-off to a third party vendor is a transaction, not a process. Organizations that consistently attract players develop an employer-of-choice brand identity, deep capabilities in talent acquisition, retention and development, and the process & infrastructure to support them.

Understanding Talent Acquisition

So what exactly do we mean by the term Talent Acquisition? Well, just as Customer Acquisition describes the overall strategic process around identifying market sectors, targeting client prospects, running direct marketing campaigns, selling and receiving the order (i.e. acquiring a new customer), so Talent Acquisition involves all the sub-processes around finding, attracting and engaging highly talented individuals into your organization.

Origin of the “Concept” of Talent Acquisition

Let’s take a closer look at the way traditional recruitment is re-emerging as a broader ‘talent acquisition’ concept - An approach that is becoming more and more critical in the ‘War for Talent’. Just exactly how does this differ from ‘plain vanilla’ recruitment? Well, in a considerable number of ways.

First and foremost, ‘talent acquisition’ forms a part of a much broader strategic approach in the corporate quest to gain and sustain a competitive advantage in today’s marketplace. Other aspects include talent development, retention and transition, these are primarily inward facing, whilst the former is outward looking.

The core concept of talent acquisition is to get away from the ‘fill in the box’ thinking to one that is more pro-active and much closer to building the skill sets required to achieve business success. Traditionally, a recruitment need occurs when an individual either leaves or is promoted to another function. That’s when panic can set in, especially if no suitable internal solution is found, a situation that is becoming known as - “under the bus syndrome”. Strong relationship building or networking skills are important here. The key to success in talent acquisition is the unique way that you are able to tap into the ‘top performers’ who are not really looking for another job. They never read the traditional job ads or go to the job boards on the Internet.

Encouraging your own ’star’ players to identify other outside top performers is an extremely powerful tool that is

Doing Dinner: Confessions Of A Radical Mother

Doing Dinner: Confessions Of A Radical Mother

I love slow living. It’s peaceful, meaningful and downright radical in a go-go world.

According to a recent article in (appropriately enough)Time magazine, groups of harried parents across the USA are joining a wave of slow living advocates by doing something really revolutionary–having one sit-down dinner at home with their kids each week.

I don’t know whether to applaud or cry.

The idea that parents are willing to undertake the Herculean task of rearranging their schedules to fit in a single dinner at home is laudable. The fact that it requires superhuman effort is terribly sad.

How did we get here?

The article states that back in the 1980s, sociologists decided that providing structured activities for kids would prevent juvenile delinquency. In addition, education experts suggested that American children needed to study harder to compete academically in the global market.

At the same time, American business leaders looked around and discovered they were losing their edge. They bumped up hours and production rates in an effort to keep ahead of burgeoning Asian countries. This new competitiveness spilled over into the home, where mothers fresh from the work force took the corporate ideal of high productivity to the playgrounds.

Yikes.

I spent most of the eighties living and working in Asia. I taught English in Japan for five years, so I’m all too familiar with ELECTROLUX ZP-3510 the “education mama” syndrome. What’s interesting is that the American mamas have taken that same emphasis on competition and achievement and focused on sports or other activities. Although we don’t have to suffer the unfortunate consequences of despondent students going through the examination hell of the Japanese system, we have burned out 15-year-olds having knee surgery for ten years’ worth of soccer injuries, and families who

Dancing with the Stars: Results Show 5, Season 3

Another upset at the Dancing with the Stars results show last night. Much to everyone’s astonishment, Willa Ford was voted off. But in a show full of twist endings (likely a compliment of the ELECTROLUX ZAC 6827 producers), it’s not all that surprising.

Willa Ford’s performance on Tuesday did not strike as being particularly outstanding this time around, and unlike Sara Evans, Willa does not have the advantage of having a strong fan base. Still there is injustice to see Чёрное платье (2008) DVDRip the likes of mediocre dancers Sara and Jerry return because of their massive popularity while better, hard-working dancers are being booted off

Wealthy and Creative - How to apply Gratitude and Attract Riches

This cozy long weekend always reinforces the beauty of giving thanks. I have a lot to be thankful for.

Writing to all of you has been a great source of joy. I love hearing from you and connecting with you on a daily basis. It is a wonderful way for LG KG270 me to begin creating my day. Thank you.

One of my favorite writers, Wallace D. Wattles, has some fabulous reasons as to why gratitude is a key ingredient for success.

As creative beings we realize that All things are Samsung CS-21Z55Z3Q born out of a creative force. This unseen creativity is immense and powerful. It is energy made manifest. Money also is energy made manifest. The more energy you express creatively, the more comes into your world in the form of riches, or money.

Wattles writes, “If it is a new thought to you that gratitude brings your whole mind into closer harmony with the creative energies of the universe, consider it well, and you will Mozilla see that
